Positive Paint Strips

Paint strips are free!! Yes, free and one of the most fun materials to use with students. Because I work with students that range in age I created a list of different inspirational quotes. Then the students selected a paint strip and chose one or more quotes to write on the strip. Some of them decorated them and others wrote several quotes- there were no rules. Then before they left for class they randomly selected one from the pile to take with them :)

Positivity Tabs

I select different positive quotes each week and create a page on word. Then I cut the bottom of the page into strips so students can take a positive reminder with them each day. They are able to chose if they need one or not. This has worked wonderfully because it is student choice and they can easily keep it in their pocket!

Classroom Thumbprint Tree

For this activity I had the class use finger paints to put their thumb print on our class tree. This tree hangs on the board where everyone can see it and feel apart of the room.

I currently work with several different age students at a before and after school program.  I have recently noticed that the students have negative attitudes before they go to school each day and I wanted this to change.  It is my motivation to change these students lives in a positive way.  Every bit of inspiration and positivity can help encourage a student.  I have created several different activities that have helped and I am constantly searching for more.  Comment if you have any other ideas or suggestions I would love to hear! I hope that these activities help anyone who is looking for a little extra inspiration.
